Transparency matters to us. Here we explain how affiliate links work on this site, how they are marked and how they do – and do not – affect the site's content.
What are affiliate links?
An affiliate link is a link to an online shop that contains a special identifier. If you click such a link and buy a product, we may receive a percentage of the sale as a commission from the seller. The price you pay is the same whether or not you arrive through the link.

How are the links marked?
- Affiliate links in articles appear in a separate, coloured box headed "Iceland, delivered".
- Below each such box and in the sidebar there is a short note stating that it is an affiliate link.
- The footer of every page contains a general notice about affiliate links.
- The links are technically marked as sponsored (rel="sponsored") so that search engines treat them correctly.
Editorial independence
Affiliate links do not influence the topics, conclusions or facts in the site's articles. We only add links where they naturally fit, for example in articles about Icelandic food, woollens and festivals. No partner has edited or approved the site's content.
Responsibility for products and purchases
We do not sell any products ourselves. All purchases are made directly with the seller and are governed by its terms, for example regarding prices, shipping, customs, returns and warranties. Questions about orders should be directed to the seller. See also the site's disclaimer.
Privacy
We receive no personal data about you through affiliate links. The seller may use cookies to track that your visit came from us. See the cookie policy and the privacy policy.
